Iglesias has many beaches, there are to many to post all, so here are a few in hope that you might join me one day.
Portu Banda is a small cove at Nebida made up of very coarse sand and pebbles, its very private and not used much by tourists. From the Trekking cottage apartment it is about 20 minutes drive.
Porto Paglia is one of my favourite beaches because it has plenty of space so never really gets crowded. Its made up with very fine soft sand with spectacular scenery, this beach can get rough when windy that creates big waves for surfing. This beach is around 15 minutes from Trekking cottage apartment by car.
Fontanamare is the closest beach taking around 15 minutes by car from the Trekking cottage apartment. This beach has soft golden sand and stretches for 3 kilometres so a great beach to take a stroll.
Scivu is a protected beach where the sand is made of quartz, for this part of the beach you will need to walk for about an hour to reach it, so bring your rucksack and boots its well worth the effort. This beach is about 40 minutes by car from the trekking cottage apartment.
Masua has several beaches, this one is a small bay and if you arrive early you will have the beach just for you as there is no space for others. This spot is great for snorkeling. The beach overlooks Pan di Zucchero a national monument. Masua is about 30 minutes drive from the trekking cottage apartment.
The beach bar at Masua is a great place to chill out or just enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun set.
The old Tuna fisherman’s house which is still used by fishermen. This is a great place to beach comb.
Capo Pecora is a great place to snorkel or fish but the fishing is protected so check what is in season before hand. You can also walk to Scivu beach from here. By car it takes 40 minutes from the trekking cottage apartment.
Masua beach the main beach at Masua. Here you can hire most things or arrange a boat trip.
