We had a great stay! The cottage is clean and well equipped. Stephen was very friendly and helpful. San Benedetto is a cute, sleepy village with just one shop but the surrounding mountains are beautiful and Iglesias (with restaurants, bars and shops) is just few minutes drive away. The Miscellaneous Cocktail Bar in Iglesias is a great place to hang out. We also loved the coast – nearest beach is about 15 minutes by car. Fontanamare, Spiaggia di Masua and Cala Domestica are nearby but it is also worth to venture a bit further away to Spiaggia di Piscinas. Perfect location if you want to explore Province of Carbonia-Iglesias.

The hamlet of San Benedetto is full of friendly people and local animals with a small local shop (very small!) The apartment was easy to find, and had everything we could possibly want there including a very comfy bed. Iglesias is a 10 minute drive away and there’s a bus service that goes through up until about 9pm. Stephen was great for hints and tips about the local area and was only a text away for advice. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet village and driving about to see other parts of Sardinia. I wouldn’t recommend it for usual tourists as there isn’t a large amount of attractions nearby, but it is in a good place for driving to other towns. 5 stars! We had a ridiculously good time!

Il soggiorno a casa di Stephen è stato molto buono. La casa è dotata di tutte le comodità per passare qualche giorno in assoluta tranquillità. San Benedetto è una piccola frazione circondata dai monti, ma è un ottimo punto di appoggio per esplorare le zone circostanti che offrono scenari bellissimi, come il Parco del Marganai o il vicino complesso punico-romano di Antas. Non molto distante, Nebida offre scenari costieri ancora più belli e si raggiunge da San Benedetto percorrendo strade che mostrano i siti minerari ormai non più operativi. La frazione di San Benedetto manca però di segnale telefonico che è possibile recuperare non appena si supera la diga del Lago Corsi, in direzione Iglesias. In compenso il paese è coperto da segnale Wi-Fi gratuito. Soggiorno consigliatissimo a chi cerca una vacanza immerso nella natura!

Nearly tucked in the mountains in a very sleepy village. Rather remote and would need a car to travel around. Basic but good kitchen for cooking. Stephen very kindly supplied a cool box and umbrella for the beach.

Das Häusschen in Tanca Piras ist gemütliches und praktisch eingerichtet. Die Lage ist grandios, der Ausblick vom Balkon und die Umgebung haben uns sehr gut gefallen! Von Nebida aus kann man in alle Richtungen tolle Ausflüge machen und eine vielfältige Landschaft entdecken. Stephen ist immer erreichbar. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt!

Alloggio molto spazioso e tranquillo, completo di tutto il necessario, compreso i condimenti e le spezie per cucinare (olio, sale, aceto, e tutto il resto) cosa molto gradita a chi, come noi, viaggia in moto e spesso non ha lo spazio per portarsi al seguito tutto l’occorrente per cucinare. Bellissimi i dintorni : partendo da qui in mezz’ora di macchina si raggiunge la meravigliosa costa fra Nebida e Masua, da non perdere la visita a Porto Flavia, un giro in barca intorno al Pan di Zucchero e, per gli amanti dello snorkeling, un lungo bagno nelle acque cristalline a caccia di grotte, calette e archi naturali nelle limpide acque di Cala Domestica.

Excellent. The village is sweet and peaceful. I particularly enjoyed sitting drinking coffee in front of the apartment and watching the daily dramas of the semi-feral cats and dogs. The apartment is perfect for coming out of heat in the middle of the day in summer. Iglesias, the nearby town has a lovely atmosphere in the evening in the square all ages out and about.

The house is far from beach, but the place is lovely, very very quiet and full of vegetation. To arrive to the more important places of the green coast in Sardinia need no more than one hour, and the temperature in summer it’s colder than coast, about 5-10 degrees less, amazing! The cleaning is perfect and you have al you need for live. I recomend this house. Stephen is a very good person. La casa está lejos de la costa, pero los lugares más importantes de la costa verde de Cerdeña están a menos de 1 hora, te da tiempo de verlo todo en 4 días, sin prisas y disfrutando. El lugar es súper tranquilo y el pueblo, San Benedetto, es casi 10 grados más fresco que los sitios de alrededor, alucinante, hemos dormido tapados los 4 días y en Cagliari o en la costa estábamos a 30 grados. La casa está perfectamente limpia, tal como se describe y con lo Indispensable; no es el ritz pero es mejor que muchos hoteles de 4 estrellas. Muy muy recomendable. We had a wonderful time in San Benedetto. It’s a lovely small village with a little shop that has most basic needs. The surrounding mountains are great for trekking and the views are beautiful. The apartment is well equipped and has a great shower. It was very nice to sit outside in front of the apartment with a book. The village was very easy to reach by public transport. Stephen was very responsive, kind and he knows a lot about the environment. He even got us some local wine when we arrived. Recommended!

The house is brand-new, really confortable, well equipped and clean. It is ideal for couples. The nature close to the appartment is wild and rich of old mines ruins. It offers several tracks for hiking and biking. It’s perfect for people who loves calm peaceful moments in the nature. Stephen is really gentle and give us many suggestions on what to do and what to see. Highly recommended !

Stephen’s place was lovely and just as described. The village is quiet and there are two cute kittens that live nearby! Everything you would need was provided and shops and a great pizzeria (il quinto moro) located in Iglesias(10 mins drive). Some lovely beaches nearby and good climbing too! Una bellissima sorpresa: l’accogliente, caloroso e pratico appartamentino di Stephen in un piccolo villaggio che ha conservato la patina del tempo. Il luogo è per lo più molto tranquillo (qualche va e vieni dei camioncini per la raccolta dei rifiuti il mattino presto, poi però tutto torna tranquillo); ben situato se si vuole restare vicino alla natura, pur avendo un borgo come Iglesias a portata di mano. Nel villaggio stesso esiste un piccolo negozio che fornisce prodotti essenziali; se si desidera del pane, bisogna giusto pensare a comandarlo il giorno prima. Infine, molto gradevole il contatto con gli abitanti del luogo.

This is a lovely place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxed place to unwind and keep things simple on holiday. We went to a different beach every day and swam in the onsite pool in the evening. The well equipped kitchen made it easy to cater for ourselves and we also ate at a great cheap pizza restaurant nearby, on a circular walk with sea views. The bedrooms had great storage and the house came with useful extras like sun loungers, garden furniture, an iron and recycling facilities. We would recommend visiting Carla Domestica beach and Calasetta on the island of Sant’Antioco. Stephen met us at the property on arrival and departure and was really helpful in coming to our assistance when we thought we’d run out of gas.

San Benedetto is a small vilage, so it is only you and the locals. Steve’s house is the one you would expect in such a place. There was everything we needed. The nicest beaches od the west coast are i a driving distance (20 km). It is also great to go for a track in the mountains,the nature here is really beautiful and wild.Steve is a great host – always ready to help, give advice. I am sure we will come again one day..

Hemos estado una semana genial en San benedetto,decir que Stephen nos ayudó desde el minuto uno que nos pusimos en contacto con él,nos dio consejos e hizo todo lo posible por hacernos sentir como en casa.Para los amantes del buceo o snorkel les recomiendo las calas de san’t antioco como cala della signora,arco dei baci, en cagliari la cala fighera,en buggerru cala doméstica,y cerca de masua porto cauli donde cogimos un barco 2 horas por 30€/persona,que llevaba a pan di zuchero,cala doméstica,y otras grutas donde nadar y bucear,todo es esplendido,la comida,sus aguas turquesas,¡¡¡vacaciones de 10!!!gracias Stephen por tu amabilidad y ayuda.

When you’re looking for an authentic Sardegna experience without too many tourists, Stephen Morgan’s cosey cottage provides the basis from where you can explore the south west of Sardegna. The village people of San Benedetto are friendly and open when you take the time for a conversation. The small supermarket around the corner can arrange fresh bread for you every morning, if you want. The beaches of Portoscuso and Portixeddu (our favourite!) are absolutely beautiful, after a scenic drive through the mountains. Stephen is very friendly and helpful, and the cottage is basic but has all you need for a holiday. Thank you Stephen!!!

We loved our stay at the cottage in San Benedetto – it’s the ideal place if you’re looking for a quiet break and don’t mind being away from the towns and cities. We didn’t have a car, but were still able to explore and see some lovely places in the south west by using public transport – there was a decent bus service connecting us to Iglesias. Stephen was also a great and attentive host. He was very easy to reach and helped us with settling in. Thank you!

This place turned out to be a great choice for our stay in the area. We enjoyed the location and the variety of places within a short drive. Kitchen had the right equipment too. Stephen was an awesome host, always kind and helpful. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great value. Pro-tip: take the sailing boat trip with Stephen if you can, you won’t be disappointed!

We travelled to San Benedetto in late April and liked the comfortable and very cosy atmosphere of the house. There’s a litte stove in the living room that we lighted in the evening. Since we were too early in the season for the beach, we spent our time mostly hiking. And there’s plenty to discover in the surrondings (you should bring a car). Stephen was very helpful with everything. San Benedetto is a very small an quite place, but we had a nice chat with some of the villagers.

Maison agréable dans un petit village au calme. Il y a de la place, c’est correct et conforme à la description. Stephen est bien accueillant prêt à renseigner les bons plans pour découvrir la région. Stephen nous a accueillis chaleureusement et a fait preuve d’une grande disponibilité. Le logement est dans une maison entièrement rénovée, spacieuse et très jolie, parfaite pour la saison chaude car elle reste bien fraîche. San Benedetto est un petit village en pleine nature mais très proche d’Iglésias. Autour, le cadre est magnifique, avec de nombreuses possibilités de randonnées et d’escalade.

Eine saubere, recht einfache Unterkunft mitten in einem kleinen Bergdorf (Busanbindung nach Iglesias). Die ruhige Lage können wir leider nicht bestätigen. Der Lärmpegel war stets recht hoch; verursacht sowohl durch Hundegekläffe und -geheule als auch durch vorbeifahrende und permanent hupende Motorfahrzeuge jeglicher Art. Das schmälert nicht, dass Stephen ein sehr kommunikativer und freundlicher Gastgeber ist, der viele Tipps parat hatte. Ausserdem wurden wir von den Dorfbewohnern sehr freundlich aufgenommen und zwei süße Katzenkinder leisteten uns angenehme Gesellschaft.

Photos conformes et vue vraiment splendide…le vrai point fort de ce logement!! Aménagement très confortable, très propre, bien équipé (vaisselle, petite épicerie de dépannage…), dépliants touristiques… Résidence très propre aussi et piscine très appréciable!! La côté sarde dans la région est superbe!! Bref un bon point de chute pour découvrir le coin!!

Our stay at Stephen’s was nice, the flat is cosy, comfortable and clean. It’s a perfect shelter from the hot Sardinian sun. The area is quite wild but close to the town, amazing beaches and mountains. Stephen and his wife were very friendly and they gave us loads of good suggestions. We definitely recommend this place.

Stephen trekking cottage is very cute and basic. It has everything you need and is clean. We stayed for three nights which was definitely to short to discover the surroundings properly. If travel to Sardinia again we would return to do some more trekking. Thanks for the pleasant stay!

la frazione di San Benedetto è tranquilla e fresca, situata in luogo perfettoper escursioni a piedi o in bici, sia verso la montagna che il mare. Per la spiaggia ci vanno una ventina di minuti (in macchina) ma c’è di che scegliere. La casa è accogliente e fresca, dotata di tutto ciò che serve e Stephen è un ospite perfetto: gentile, cordiale e disponibile a dare spunti e dritte su ciò che si può fare nei dintorni.

Na 7 dagen rontrekken op Sardinie hebben we in dit huis echt even 3 dagen lekker niets gedaan. Het is een sfeervol, schoon, groot en nieuw huis in een soort resort. Het heeft een heerlijk balkon met een werkelijk prachtig uitzicht op zee! Wij voelden ons zeer bevoorrecht en hebben 3 dagen genoten. We waren de enige in het resort en hadden het zwembad voor ons alleen. Op 5 minuten lopen is een supermarkt en een heerlijke pizzabakker! Je kan er wandelen, er is vlakbij een heerlijk strandje. Stephan heeft ons heel hartelijk ontvangen en de communicatie verliep prima! Echt een aanrader!Verder is het huis echt compleet,koken, dubbele badkamer,airco’s lekker relaxen!

Stephen was a really nice host and very helpful. He picked me up from Iglesias when I arrived and brought me to the nice cottage in S. Benedetto. If you search a place to relax and to enjoy nature this is the perfect location. The house has it’s special atmosphere: the chimney warms you after a rainy day and the cottage keeps cool, even when it gets really hot on a sunny day. Also try the tasteful wine from the local shop! I would recommend this place

Excellent accueil de la part de Stephen (malgres notre retard d’1h..) logement parfaitement conforme à nos attentes, idéalement situé pour visiter le sud de la Sardaigne. (Belles plages à proximité) residence tres agréable, piscine non chauffée, accès wifi uniquement au bar (en payant) Nous conseillons fortement ce logement !
